What Does Galatians 6:9 Mean by “In Due Season We Shall Reap”?

Main Answer

Galatians 6:9 means that Christians should not allow weariness to stop them from doing good, because God gives lasting value to faithful sowing even when results are delayed. The promise of reaping belongs to God’s timing, not ours.

Paul uses the language of sowing and harvest. A farmer cannot force the season by staring at the soil, and Christians cannot always see the effect of faithful service immediately.

The verse gives encouragement to people who are tired of doing the right thing. It does not promise that every particular project, relationship or plan will produce the exact result a person wants.

Perseverance can therefore include continuing the good while reviewing the method. Faithfulness belongs to God, while timing and visible outcomes often remain outside our control.
