Main Answer
Christians can persevere in unanswered prayer by continuing to bring the request to God while allowing Him to shape the way they wait. Persistence is relational trust, not a technique for forcing a particular outcome.
Jesus tells a parable in Luke 18 so that His disciples “ought always to pray, and not to faint.” The story gives prayer a direct connection with perseverance when delay makes discouragement tempting.
Persistent prayer can include the same request, honest lament and changing language as circumstances develop. Scripture gives no requirement to pretend confidence about an outcome God has not promised.
A believer can keep asking while also seeking wisdom, taking practical action and receiving support. Prayer remains active even when the answer is “wait”, “no”, or a form of help different from what was expected.
